United Breweries, the country’s largest beer manufacturer and part of the Amsterdam-based Heineken group, had recently launched Heineken® Silver – a smooth and refreshing beer that provides Indian consumers with a premium beverage that is truly designed for everyday social occasions. Heineken® Silver is brewed by master brewers using natural ingredients, including Heineken®‘s famous A-yeast and quality malt. Heineken®‘s latest beer innovation provides the new generation of consumers with a premium, smooth-tasting beer that breaks from the socializing traditions of the past to refresh the drinking moments of today.

What makes Heineken® Silver different is the ice-cold lagering process. By brewing Heineken® Silver at -1°C, more cold haze is allowed to form and be filtered out. This removes proteins and rough-tasting tannins, leaving behind a delightfully refreshing taste that’s accessible and easy to drink. To know more about Heineken’s all new product and its target consumers, we interviewed Rajeev Sathyesh who’s the Asia-Pacific Director for Heineken® Brand. Rajeev is responsible for the growth and development of the Heineken® brand and business in the Asia-Pacific region (ASEAN, North East Asia, Greater China, India, Australia and New Zealand). Rajeev’s vision is to champion the growth of Heineken®, the most international and visible brand, as they enter an incredible era of innovation and expansion in the beer industry and brew the joy of true togetherness to inspire a better world. Here’s what he had to say.

How does Heineken Silver see itself fitting into India’s dynamic and constantly evolving commercial beer segment?

The beauty about a country like India is the population, especially the younger generation. We see a huge evolution in terms of taste preferences in every alco-bev category including beer. Heineken Silver has been designed particularly to cater to young consumers in India. It is a premium proposition that meets their taste needs. It’s extremely smooth, easy to drink and goes along with their ever evolving dynamic lifestyle.

Heineken Silver
Heineken Silver

As a brand, Heineken is iconic. It stands for open mindedness and bringing people together from different backgrounds. It resonates with the DNA of young Indian consumers and when you couple that with a liquid that meets their taste needs, it’s a natural fit. So we see this as a premium beer for Indian Gen-Z and millenials.

Heineken Silver is a low ABV, session lager. How do you see this variant competing with India’s Strong Lager market, considering this category remains the hot favorite among beer lovers?

It is true factually that the bulk of the category today exists in Strong beer. But like I mentioned earlier, the beauty about India is its population and the diverse taste that exists. There is a segment for every single consumer. More recently, the 5% and under 5% beer segment has been growing and exploding in a big way. At the same time, there are consumers who want 7-8% beer. We see Heineken Silver basically catering to the 5% or under 5% ABV segment but more importantly a taste profile and experience with a brand that meets their needs.

How critical is the Indian Beer Market for Heineken in the Asia-Pacific region?

It is very critical. India has a growing population. The economy is stable and GDP per capita is growing. Beer as a category is very small for the total percentage among the alcobev industry in India and the per capita consumption of beer in India is 2L per person per year. When I compare and contrast it to some of the other countries in Asia-Pacific, which are 20 to 30 times higher. As long as we do the right thing, which is to offer consumers the right propositions, the category will continue to grow. Therefore it is an extremely critical market for us. With iconic brands like Kingfisher and Heineken, there’s a lot of potential.

Rajeev Sathyesh, Asia-Pacific Director, Heineken

How does Heineken’s latest product complement the evolving lifestyles of new age consumers?

Like I mentioned earlier, people make a choice on the brand that they wanna be a part of and be associated with. Heineken is a brand which stands for everything that’s relevant to the Indian Gen-Z consumers. Therefore, there’s a natural affinity towards the brand, they get to know what the brand stands for. The number one task for us is to re-introduce the Heineken Brand of what we stand for. Then you couple that with our association that we have with global sports, in the territory of music, digital and metaverse, anything and everything that they are passionate about. After all, it seems like a natural fit for the young Indian consumers.

With Heineken Silver, does the company encourage consumers to drink responsibly as well? Are there any campaigns surrounding the product?

What we do is in every country around the world, there’s a substantial portion of our total investment that we pour into a campaign called ‘Enjoy Heineken® Responsibly’. If you were to look at what we’ve done this year already, we’ve partnered with Formula1 on a global scale and encourage people to say “when you drive don’t drink, when you drink don’t drive”. We use Formula1 races and teams to be able to communicate this message. We take that very seriously as a company. Moderation is an important part of our strategy and we believe people should enjoy the propositions but enjoy them in a very responsible way. We do the same in India as well.

Heineken Silver
Enjoy Heineken Responsibly – A Formula1 Campaign

Considering the Asia-Pacific market region, are there any other products in the pipeline for Heineken this year?

Nothing that I can share at this point and time. We keep looking for opportunities in India and other parts of the world.

Under United Breweries, Kingfisher already has a diverse portfolio of variants. Do you plan to achieve that with Heineken as well?

Yes, absolutely. If you look at our portfolios across the globe, we believe in creating larger portfolios and it stems from a simple logic that anyone who wants to enjoy beer, looks for a different proposition. One brand cannot do it all. Kingfisher is an iconic brand. It’s synonymous with a category in India and we’ve got a portfolio with UB. We will continue to look at opportunities within India because of the evolving taste preferences of consumers and where there are unmet needs and at the right points of time, we will bring the relevant propositions.

Heineken Silver
The Original Heineken

Was there a prior R&D done to remove some of the harsh flavor compounds such as tannins before brewing Heineken Silver?

Yes. We are a company that is obsessed with the quality of the liquids. We will not put anything out there that doesn’t meet our quality standards. There’s a lot of work that went into designing this proposition and making sure that the taste of this product is the same everywhere in the world. Irrespective of where it is brewed, Heineken Silver tastes the same, likewise, Heineken Original tastes the same.

Is Heineken Silver a limited release variant or is it part of the core line-up?

It is part of the core line-up and it is here to stay. This is a proposition that we believe that meets the needs and delights the young consumers in India, which we know is the case, because we’ve tested it in the Indian market.

How many countries is the Silver available right now and is it pouring on draft?

We have already launched in 26 countries so far and India is the 27th country. It’s a relatively young proposition which started in 2019 with Vietnam being the first country and China in 2020. Now we’ve taken it to Europe, Americas and other countries in Asia. Heineken Silver exists in draft in other countries but not yet in India.

Heineken® Silver is available in both on and off-trade retail channels in Bengaluru. Silver’s 330-ml pint is priced at Rs. 120, the 500-ml can at Rs. 160 and the 650-ml bottle at Rs. 200 across off-trade retail outlets in Bengaluru. The beer comes in a sleek silver can and the iconic green bottle. Heineken® Silver will also be launched in other markets in the next few months.

Oi Brewing Company

Imagined in India, Bira 91 aspires to bring flavourful beers to the new world. IPA Week Line-up

Bira 91 IPA
Pour list at Bira 91 Taproom

1. Huell Melon Wheat IPA

Wheat IPAs combine the taste of an American IPA with a wheat beer’s crisp, ‘zing’ to create hoppy goodness in a glass!

ABV: 6% | IBU: 40

2. West Coast IPA

The West Coast IPA was the beginning of the fruity hop explosion. This style gets credit for exploring the rowdy, fruity flavors in hops, while shedding some of the bitterness. That’s not to say that West Coast IPAs aren’t bitter; they are. But that bitterness is balanced with an exceptionally clean, crisp body, higher carbonation, and big tropical fruit notes (It is a “West Coast” IPA, after all).

ABV: 6.5% | IBU: 45

3. New England IPA

A New England IPA is a style of American IPA that features an intense, tropical fruit centric, hop aroma and flavor. It’s heavily dry hopped to the point of being hazy and has a fuller body, smoother flavor, and less perceived bitterness than typical IPAs.

ABV: 6% | IBU: 35

4. Bajra Brut IPA

A Brut IPA is a fizzy, champagne-like and light-bodied beer with plenty of hop aromatics. This new style of IPA is named after the word ‘brut’ used in the champagne world to describe how dry the wine is.

ABV: 5.5% | IBU: 45
Bira 91 IPA
L – R: Bajra Brut IPA, Huell Melon Wheat IPA and Black IPA

5. Black IPA

Flavors of roasted coffee, accompanied with the bitterness of hops. This beer contrasts its dark appearance with the fresh aroma that is perceived in its foam.

ABV: 6% | IBU: 50

6. Pomelo IPA

Session ‘Indian’ Pale Ale with refreshing aromas and juiciness of pomelo, balanced with American tropical and aroma hops, and mosaic hops from the Northwest United States.

ABV: 4.5% | IBU: 30
Bira 91 IPA
A sampler flight of 6 IPAs

American Brew Crafts has launched their flagship brand of beers called BlockBuster in Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Goa and Pondicherry more recently. Equipped with two state-of-the-art commercial brewing plants, American Brew Crafts makes the beer in small batches giving enough attention and focus to the recipe of each beer. The breweries are set up with the latest German equipment at Sangareddy in Telangana, and Kakinada in Andhra Pradesh.

“BlockBuster is launched with the objective to offer an unparalleled experience for connoisseurs and satiate the taste buds of the beer-drinking population in the country.” explains Satya Siva, Director of American Brew Crafts. “BlockBuster is the first product from our portfolio which is available in Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Puducherry, Karaikkal, Andaman and Goa. We have plans of expanding our reach to at-least 12 states by the year-end. We are truly a ‘Made in India’ brand which has been scouting for a long time to source the best raw materials from the communities in our neighborhood to build a sustainable model of growth.” says Nagendra Tayi, CEO of American Brew Crafts. To understand more about his marketing strategy and perspective, we interviewed Mr. Nagendra Tayi. Read more to find out.

BlockBuster
L – R: Satya Siva Athi (Director) and Nagendra Tayi (CEO)

Tell us a bit about Blockbuster and its journey so far.

Blockbuster or BB, as it is fondly known, is the newest offering from American Brew Crafts. It was launched in Andhra Pradesh under the Ultra variant in 2019. With an average market share of 15% in the AP market, BB has performed beyond our expectations. Following this, BB was launched in Telangana in August 2021. We are currently available across Telangana with a market share of 2% and we expect to touch 10% by 2023.

How does BlockBuster Beer see itself fitting into India’s dynamic and constantly evolving commercial beer segment?

BlockBuster is launched with the objective to offer an unparalleled experience for connoisseurs and satiate the taste buds of the beer-drinking population in the country. It is our mission to infuse the market with more and more variants of beer, so that beer lovers are able to experience the best and most innovative beer brews in India. We intend to launch multiple variants like wheat, IPA and fruit based brews in the near future. We intend to constantly evolve with changing market trends and tastes.

According to you, what are the market size and consumer demand for higher ABV beers when compared to low ABV variants?

The market size of Telangana is 50 Lakhs on average and Andhra Pradesh is 15 Lakhs on average (due to the higher MRP of liquor). The markets we function within are predominantly high ABV markets with the consumer preferring products that are deemed value for money. Telangana is a 60% strong market with a fair share of lager in the towns and cities. Same goes for Andhra. Goa on the other hand is primarily a lager market for us.

BlockBuster
BlockBuster Lager and Strong

How does the BlockBuster brand stand apart from your portfolio of other sibling variants such as Khajuraho?

Khajuraho is a brand we do not own. We had taken a lease of the brand name to generate a foothold in the market. BlockBuster is a completely owned product.

Do you plan on launching draught beers across Telangana and Andhra Pradesh now that you’ve secured a dispensing system?

BlockBuster draught is currently available in 60 outlets across Telangana. We aim to expand the presence significantly over the next few months. We will be starting our draught operations in AP in 2023.

Could you tell us about the variants that are currently available in the market and the states they are available in?

BlockBuster is available in Lager, Strong, Ultra Lager, and Ultra Strong. These variants are available in 650ML, 330ML, and 500ML Cans. Blockbuster is currently available in Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Puducherry, Karaikkal, Andaman and Goa. We have plans to expand to Karnataka, Odisha, Jharkhand, and Delhi by the end of 2022.

BLR Brewing Co. is a brewpub spread across three locations in the Garden city – Bengaluru. Recently it launched the third outlet in JP Nagar. The theme of the place talks about 5 elements: Earth, Water, Air, Fire & Space all together in one place. Touch of red-bricked walls, Mashaal lighted during the night and live music in the evenings. The space is spread across two floors, indoors and an imposing rooftop to enjoy the breezy weather of Bangalore. A rooftop brewery with fresh seasonal brews by different brewers and breweries across India is what this place has to offer.

The brewery caters to different tastes and flavour preferences of beer lovers and is experimenting with local ingredients for crafting the perfect recipes so that one can taste what those ingredients are all about.

Blr Brewing
Blr Brewing Co., JP Nagar

“Demand for craft beer is rapidly emerging and Beer is becoming more of a lifestyle beverage so we thought why don’t we do a series of collaborations this year as part of our launch of the new property. Our newest location in JP Nagar is a brewers hub wherein brands from all over the world will be brewing craft brews here. We have collaborated with several breweries from Maharashtra and we look forward to having more such collaborations across the globe” – Prasanna Kumar, Co-Founder, BLR Brewing Co.

The Collaborations at BLR Brewing

Blr Brewing Co. has an array of options to choose from the fresh brews, starting with twelve different styles of house-brewed beers amongst which six will be crafted by the breweries and brewers across India. Blr Brewing Co. has already kickstarted their collaborations with 2 Down Beer Co. by brewing a Best Bitter (more on that later) and it will then be followed by Kimaya Brewing Co., Bombay Duck Brewing, Igloo Craft Beers and many more brands across the globe.

Prasanna Kumar (L) and Rajaram Gupta (R), Co-Founders, BLR Brewing Co.

“What made you collaborate with breweries across India? And how essential are collaborations in the brewing industry?” we asked Prasanna Kumar to understand his perspective. “We all know Bangalore is already considered the Beer Capital of India. Looking at this, my idea was why don’t we call our friends and breweries across the globe to come over and do a collaboration with us, where we primarily focus on brewing a beer from our locally grown ingredients. In one of the recent collaborations we have used ‘Heralikayi’ which is called ‘Citron Lime’ and we will be also curating the food menu which can be native food of the collaborator!” explains Prasanna. “I would like to call this particular outlet of BLR Brewing Co. – JP Nagar as Brewers Hub which will have 12 Beers of which 6 will be from my House Brewer – Umang Nair and 6 more beers will be a collaboration with our Migrant Brewers/ Brands across the globe!”

Apart from their collaborations menu, the brewery also offers 6 in-house variants – Belgian Witbier, Farmhouse Ale, Hefeweizen, Alphonso Ale, Nitro Stout and Nelson IPA brewed by Head Brewer Umang Nair, expertise in hand-crafted beers. Experimenting a fusion of caffeine and beer with South Bangalore based coffee brand Benki is something that makes it one of a kind experience. All of which will be available at all the outlets of BLR Brewing Co. across Bangalore.

SpectraA Technology Solutions is an India-based project management company that offers end-to-end engineering, technological, design and site installation support. They primarily cater to the brewery, distillery and food industry. SpectraA Technology Solutions segregate their divisions under alcoholic and non-alcoholic. Under the alcoholic division, they have microbreweries, craft breweries, and industrial breweries.

Having an impressive portfolio of clients from the beer and brewing industry, SpectraA has a unique brand philosophy to cater to the key players of the industry. In this candid interview with Binodh Raman who is a Senior Business Development Manager from SpectraA Technology Solutions, we understand the brand ethos, future plans and many more.

SpectraA has an impressive portfolio of clients from the beer and brewing industry. How does each project vary from brand to brand and how does it align with their philosophy?

All of our projects are unique to each other. No two projects are the same. Every customer’s requirements are different. If you look at it from the outside, it might look similar but if you look at the piping or tank capacities and other aspects of it, you’ll see the difference.

SpectraA

SpectraA’s philosophy has always been customer service and their goodwill. We have moved quickly in the competitive market only because of this trademark of ours.

“SpectraA’s philosophy has always been customer service and their goodwill. We have moved quickly in the competitive market only because of this trademark of ours.” – Binodh Raman, Senior Business Development Manager, SpectraA Technology Solutions.

Each of these MNC companies have a very different philosophy when it comes to the production of beer. Some of our clients look for optimum sizing while others look for minimum operational cost. The standards and parameters they follow are very different from one another. Since we have been working with all these customers for the past 12 years we have an in-depth knowledge of their requirements. We work on those lines to provide customer satisfaction.

What is SpectraA’s USP? How does it stand apart from the other key players in the industry in terms of pricing, efficiency, automation etc?

We cater to different industries. For us the overheads are very less compared to the other major players in this industry. We are able to offer the same equipment with a better price point than our competitors. That makes a big difference to most of the customers. Off late, we’ve done a lot of brownfield projects in collaboration with Krones. This is where Krones supplies all of the critical equipment that are imported from Germany, and the rest of the plant is built by SpectraA. This model is designed in such a way that it reduces the overall cost of a project. This is a new concept that we are working on.

SpectraA

On the craft and microbrewery side, we are doing 50HL brewery, as of now, in Uttarakhand. Being cost effective is the biggest USP that we have. Additionally, we are the only equipment manufacturers in India who do their own Electrical and VLC panels along with automation and screens.

Does SpectraA offer any smarter automation solutions for the industry to brew more efficiently?

We offer many smarter automation solutions. For instance, conventionally, all uni-tanks in India used to have manual profile jackets. We started using something called omega laser jackets which were sourced from a Dutch company. This jacket increases the turbulence of glycol. Initially, it was just a plain flow of glycol which was happening in the conventional tanks. With the laser jackets, we were able to reduce the energy consumption by 25%. Faster cooling was possible by using less glycol.

What is that one project that SpectraA is proud of?

It’s a tough question. But If I have to put a name on it, it would be the Yak Brewery project in Nepal. This is where we and Krones came together and did our first greenfield project. Apart from this, we were also the first company to supply our equipment to Belgium and set up a 24 HL greenfield craft brewery in Canada.

SpectraA Technology Solutions has across-the-globe references in Nepal, Bhutan, Canada, Belgium and Africa for complete greenfield project turnkey solutions. SpectraA’s expertise starts from planning from scratch to controlling the final beer output, concept to bottle. In the case of brownfield projects, SpectaA has successfully executed expansion projects, automation of existing process equipment, optimisation of existing equipment, energy-saving and cost reduction through efficient technology.

Dry hopping is a way to give beer more depth of flavor and aroma. Most of the breweries that go by the traditional method, fill nylon sacks with hops and suspend them in fermentation tanks. Dry hopping is employed to ensure the hop character is supercharged so that it leaps from the beer that you’re drinking. Ever wondered what exactly happens during the process of dry hopping? Well, if you look at the anatomy of a hop, there are yellow colored glands inside of hop cones called lupulin. These glands hold the resins and essential oils that drive bitterness, aroma, and flavor in IPAs and other hop-forward beers. And dry hopping is a strategic way for the brewers to extract all the essential oils that a hop has to offer.

But there’s something that didn’t convince the hop geeks at Sierra Nevada Brewing Co. in Chico about this technique. “Something we couldn’t help noticing, though, is that sometimes we’d remove those bags – days or even weeks later – and they’d be dry in the middle! While we wouldn’t abandon this method entirely, we wanted to maximize every hop. Enter our revolutionary Hop Torpedo. It started as a napkin sketch in a pub, but eventually we made this custom device to take dry-hopping to a new level.”

The Hop Torpedo

How did the hop torpedo come into existence? We asked. “The brewing team at Sierra Nevada has long been fascinated by hops, and the aromas and flavors they impart to beer, and has become one of the largest users of whole-cone hops. Starting in the late eighties and early nineties Ken and the team began experimenting with ways to extract those whole-cone hop aromas and flavors more efficiently than traditional methods.” responded one of the spokespersons from Sierra Nevada Brewing Co.

“After decades of tinkering here and there they finally arrived at an idea that would end up influencing the overall craft beer industry, particularly in the now-booming IPA category.”

How did the team at Sierra Nevada come up with the name ‘torpedo’? “Debuted in 2009, the Hop Torpedo device resembles something like an upright torpedo (hence its name) and is a metal device roughly the size of a household refrigerator. A pivotal milestone in Sierra Nevada’s innovation story, the Hop Torpedo is a key tool for Sierra Nevada brewers as they’re dreaming up more hoppy beers and working on innovation at an exponentially greater pace than any other time in the brewery’s existence.”

The revolutionary Hop Torpedo device holds roughly 75 pounds of whole-cone hops filled by hand and jam-packed using industrial tampers. The Hop Torpedo device was designed specifically to maximize the flavor and aroma extracted from whole-cone hops and therefore it does not take the pellets.

Could you describe the process of dry hopping through the torpedoes? We asked the brewing team. “Once hops are added into the Hop Torpedo device, beer circulates out of a fermentation tank, flows through the column of hops – or multiple columns if you’re using several torpedoes! – and back into the tank. By adjusting the time, temperature and speed of circulation, brewers can control the aromas and flavors in a finished beer.”

If you’re curious to check out Sierra Nevada beers that were dry hopped using torpedoes, Torpedo Extra IPA (first beer ever to showcase the dry-hopping genius of Hop Torpedo), Tropical Torpedo IPA, Atomic Torpedo and Cold Torpedo IPA are your go-to beers.

The Fermentis team in collaboration with Naturegen and Bier Garten Brewery & Kitchen brings you a workshop which focuses on training covering yeast, bacteria, and fermentation. Fermentis’ aim is to help you as a brewer to create the beer you want by understanding all there is to know about the fermentation world!

The program for the day includes the topics which are listed below.

All-In-1TM range: a mix of microorganisms, enzymes, nutrients and more. There are occasions when a single microorganism is not enough. Thanks to Fermentis’ extensive experience and research into fermentation, we are constantly developing new products to meet the expectations of beverage makers throughout the world. All-In-1TM is a brand of specifically blended products, which can be made from a mix of microorganisms, enzymes, nutrients and more. A typical example of an All-In-1TM product currently is the mix of yeast and enzymes. The combination of both working together solution to make deliciously dry, fruity beers with amazing aromas, in a variety of ABV levels.

Low-Carb Dry Lager Tasting Session: we will taste a beer made from our SafBrewTM LD-20 and brewed by Mr Lalit Vijay at Bier Garten. SafBrewTM LD-20 is a product from our All-In-1TM range, the perfect choice to produce very dry and neutral lager beers with nearly no residual sugars.

Producing a Hard Seltzer: Hard seltzers are alcoholic beverages that contain carbonated water, alcohol and often, fruit aromas or flavours. Fermentis will explain how to produce a Hard Seltzer in your brewery and how to deal with challenges that come from pure sugar fermentations.

New trend beverages: This seminar is also the occasion to exchange information about important new trend beverages in the industry: how to make sour beer, low and no-alcohol beer. How to brew these styles with our technology?

In terms of consumer appeal, the word “local” creates a powerful impression. There’s always a certain pride we bear when we support brands and businesses that are crafted with nativity at the core. And that’s probably why it’s such a marvellous time for craft beer lovers in India right now as Seven Rivers is all set to launch two new beer styles that are brewed for a flavourful India.

Seven Rivers is a beer made for India. It is a representation of the land we belong to. Its uniqueness stems from its penchant to bring flavours and styles which find resonance with the Indian palate. The brand will be launching two styles in the market.

Seven Rivers Hefeweizen

ABV: 6.5% | IBU: 12

Seven Rivers Hefeweizen is a strong wheat beer brewed for the Indian palate. This one is not for the faint hearted! This golden beauty is bready and malty sweet with a whiff of banana and a hint of clove. The fruity aromas heighten the appeal of this wheat-based brew.

Seven Rivers
Seven Rivers Hefeweizen

Seven Rivers Witbier

ABV: 4.5% | IBU: 8

The Seven Rivers Witbier is a take on the Belgian Classic featuring fresh notes of citrus orange and coriander. A straw hued, light and easy drinking beer, the Witbier promises to refresh in every sip.

Seven Rivers Witbier

The new designs on these labels are colourful and attractive yet clean and minimalistic. We asked Vineet Sharma, VP Marketing & New Business Development, AB InBev India, to elaborate a little more on the brand’s visual design. “The design takes inspiration from ‘The land of Seven Rivers’. If you look closely, the design tells the origin story of the ingredient. The place where the ingredient is born. The natural and unspoilt land pays homage to our terroir which brings to life these wonderful ingredients which make our beers what they are – Smooth, sessionable and very flavourful. The other element which we’ve used extensively is our septagon, our logo unit. You’ll also see this unit traverse very seamlessly in all our creatives and assets in the market.”

Seven Rivers believes in the exciting possibilities which India presents to the art and science of brewing. India is a land of myriad tastes and flavours, and it is about time that someone took the westernised beverage, that is beer, and added local flavours to make it their own. Tried and tested flavours which leave us refreshed, always. Flavours which we keep going back to. Flavours deeply embedded in the idea of belongingness to this land of Seven Rivers.

Seven Rivers
Seven Rivers Hefeweizen

Since Seven Rivers believes in the exploration of Indian flavours, what are some of the Indian elements that went into the curation of these two beer variants? We asked.

“The name Seven Rivers was something that came very naturally. We were clear that craft for us was paying homage to the homegrown. A lot of our brew philosophy at the Seven Rivers brewpub also stems from this very notion – Taking inspiration from the local palate. Moreover, our Brewpub partnership with Taj Hotels – A proud flagbearer of all things India brings alive the myriad flavours like never before. Naturally, the packaged beers coming from the house of Seven Rivers will always be a representation of local flavours – Be it the zestiness of the orange in our Witbier or the spiciness of clove in our Hefeweizen.” – Vineet Sharma, VP Marketing & New Business Development, AB InBev India.

Seven Rivers Hefeweizen has just hit the shelves and Witbier is set to launch very soon. Stay tuned for more updates.
