6 New Indian Craft Beer Variants To Be Thankful For This Year

There are so many things to be thankful for this holiday season, like family, friends, health, food, job, etc. But for beer lovers, the several new additions made to the craft beer family in 2019 have certainly given them a lot more to be grateful for!  Here are 5 of this year’s top 5 craft beer releases aka 5 more reasons for craft beer fanatics to rejoice:  

1. Breakfast Cereal Stout by Goa Brewing Co.

Known for their experimental, non-conformist modern beers, this Goan brewery has just released yet another delightful beer: the Breakfast Cereal Stout. According to some sources, the beer is said to have the nostalgic aroma of milk and cereal that takes us straight back to our school days: making this a perfect choice to warm your soul during the winter months!

2. Saint & Sinner, also by Goa Brewing Co.

Saint & Sinner Trappist Style Ale (8%) is brewed with a number of mouth-watering ingredients like coconut jaggery, curaçao orange peels, treacle and German malts. The beers are high on alcohol to keep you warm during the winter and are brewed and bottle conditioned to age well.

3. White Owl’s Spike

White Owl recently launched India’s first-ever strong craft beer – Spike, a handcrafted German Weizenbock with clove and banana flavours. It also has a high alcohol content of 7.9% ABV in contrast to the traditional mild craft beers with 5% ABV.

4. Kingfisher Ultra Witbier

India’s popular beer brand Kingfisher, entered the craft beer segment this December with the Ultra Witbier. With an ABV of lower than 5%, the beer is a rich blend of all-natural orange and coriander extracts, Belgian spices and aromatic hops sourced from the US. Beer experts have already predicted that its refreshing, light and sessionable taste is likely to be an instant hit with Indian beer lovers.

5. SIMBA Light

To most, lagers are one of the simpler, uncomplicated styles of beer. But just wait till you’ve had the Simba Light. At 4.8% ABV, this new variant is a true classic that flaunts a smooth, crisp mouthfeel, making it the ideal “everyday” lager.

6. BrewDog’s Punk IPA, Lost Lager and Wild Card Wheat

 

BrewDog, a world-renowned International beer brand entered the Indian market just in time for Christmas, 2019. It is available in three variants – Wild Card Wheat, Punk IPA and Lost Lager. Wild Card Wheat is a classic wheat beer with an alcohol content of 5.6% ABV and imparts lightly floral aroma. Punk IPA, on the other hand, is a post-modern classic, a light beer with an explosion of flavours and an alcohol content of 5.6% ABV. The last variant, Lost Lager, is a dry-hopped pilsner with an alcohol content of 4.6% ABV and imparts stone-fruit and citrus notes.
