VDGLASS represents a successful case of ‘start-up to global player’ in about 12 years. Before adopting the international and more appealing brand name VDGLASS at the beginning of 2015, Vetro Due started selling promotional glassware prior to the turn of the new century.
The meteoric rise was possible due to a dynamic management and global collaboration with glass manufacturers and decorators from the glass and printing world. The goal was to focus on quality, service and problem-solving, making it possible for VDGLASS to become an Italian market leader in a few years’ time.
Having gained recognition from key multinational beverage companies, is what opened doors to develop export more and more, first within continental Europe, then globally. VDGLASS now has collaborations in every continent, and exports to more than 30 countries. The company is geared to handle more and more exports, constantly looking for more agents and partners in all free areas.
Founded and based in Parma which is home to high-quality machine-made glass, an Italian Centre of Excellence for the industry, VDGLASS aims to deliver creative solutions to promotional drinking glasses from the design of a new mould to a glass product in line with the marketing needs of food and beverage brands.
In 2017, VDGLASS is expected to reach a turnover of 23 million Euros by selling more than 55 million glasses, of which about 35% will be exported. The main areas of proucts are in Spirits, Beer, Soft Drinks, Wine, Coffee, Horeca, and Food containers.
Glassware is designed in house by VDGLASSLAB. The products are a signature of the laboratory’s own creativity based on customer requirement, or selected off-the-shelf by shape, originality, market demand, price/quality, and availability.
For the first time in Europe, VDGLASS has recently started printing drinking glasses with a single-pass digital inkjet machine. Such a machine is based on direct application (without films, screens, long machine setup) of organic colours.
At the inception, VDGLASS invested in the most efficient printing 8-colour automatic machines for ceramic and organic thermoplastic inks. The constant attention to efficiency, cost reduction, balanced production planning is partially the key that made the company grow steadily in a strongly competitive marketplace. After around 17 years of development, VDGLASS has recently invested in a UV printing line for glasses and bottles, able to treat odd shapes (oval, triangular, square, etc). This technology is aimed at a higher printing quality, a more evironmentally friendly product as well as printing on tempered or coated glass.

Along with screen-printing and digital, VDGLASS offers additional personalisation to their glass assortment by giving: thermosensitive and photosensitive inks, organic coating, acid etching, coloured and transparent printed reliefs, decals, laser decoration and nucleation.
